Kea Kōrero | Daily Oral Language Warm-Ups (Years 4–6)

Kea Kōrero is a daily speaking and listening routine for Years 4 to 6. Put a slide up and your class is straight into a quick talking challenge. Take as little as five minutes, or stretch it to fifteen. So much of how kids connect now happens through a screen, so being able to share an idea, back it with a reason and really listen to others matters more than ever. These activities build exactly those skills, and they are good fun, sparking creativity and confidence along the way. Every slide includes a worked example and an extension, and the slides are fully editable, so you can adjust the support to suit your class. It works as a literacy warm-up too, and many of the activities double as writing prompts.
