Tūī Talks | Daily Oral Language Slides (Years 0–3)

Tūī Talk Time is a daily speaking and listening routine for Years 0 to 3. Put a slide up and your class is straight into a quick talking challenge. Five minutes, and a calm, happy way to start the day. Young children learn so much through talk, and it is one of the first things to slip when the day is busy. Being able to share an idea, listen to others and have a go in front of the class builds the confidence and language that early reading and writing stand on. These activities make that part of every day, and they are good fun, full of curiosity and imagination. Every slide comes with a modelled example, so children can hear what a strong answer sounds like, and the slides are fully editable so you can adjust them to suit your class. It works as a lovely literacy warm-up too, and many of the activities make a great writing or drawing prompt.
